Host a House Show
What is a house show? A house show is a show in a non-traditional venue — your backyard or living room, a plant shop, an art gallery, a barn… anywhere you want to gather around 20-50+ of your friends and neighbors to listen to music. It’s a special, intimate concert experience, and a great way to support independent touring artists.
How does it work? There are a few different components, and they’re all really simple…
Scheduling: You share your address and a range of available dates (anything from a specific weekend to “any Saturday this summer), and I’ll reach out if I can fit your dates/location into my tour schedule.
Ticketing: There are two ways to handle ticketing:
If the show is open to the public… You let me know how many people you’re comfortable hosting, and I’ll set up a ticket link on my website (usually with a $20-$30 cover). Your address will not be shared until after a ticket is purchased.
If you want to limit the show to people you invite, I recommend using a platform like Partiful or Evite. You will handle the guest list, and station someone at the door with a tip jar or a Venmo code to handle tickets.
With either option, 100% of ticket sales go to the artist.
What You Provide: A space, an audience, and typically light snacks and drinks. It is also helpful to have one empty table or surface for merch. Some hosts like to set up folding chairs, and some hosts have guests bring camping chairs or blankets to sit on the floor. You know your community best, so this is totally up to you. You are also welcome to set any restrictions on alcohol. This is your house show, and guests are expected to respect your rules. Ideally a separate room will be available to the artist to store any gear.
What I Provide: I’ll play a 75-90 minute set either solo or as a duo. This primarily depends on what you have space for. I’ll bring a small PA, and my merch! If you would prefer to use your own sound system, just let me know, and we’ll make sure your system is compatible with my setup.
It’s that easy? Yup. House shows are a really simple and fun way to listen to music and support artists. If you’d like to host, just fill out the form below!
